Happy Herman

Herman’s good friend Irma told him a strange tale about something that happened the other day. During a video conference for work, one of Irma’s coworkers complained about their workplace.

You had to be there to really appreciate it, Herman guessed.

The Bible talks about a group of people in another time and another place who murmured in their tents and did not obey the the Lord (Ps 106:25). It made Herman think about the here and the now.

St Paul reminds us to do all things without grumbling (Phil. 2:14). It seems hardly imaginable these days. For the last few years, there’s been a lot of whining from a lot of corners.

Herman decided that there would be no more complaining from him. He reckoned it would be better to be thankful and happy. And he decided he would thank the Lord every day for his blessings.

“Like most things in life,” Herman thought, “happiness begins with a decision.” The little mouse decided he would be happy today — tomorrow would have its own story (if tomorrow ever actually arrived).

That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!

In Christ.

Let’s go prayer walking!
